Get to know Sophia

Hello! My name is Sophia Ramos, and I'm a Digital Marketing & Transformation Strategy Consultant and Mentor based out of Spain and Panama.


I’ve been in the digital marketing world for more than a decade, helping clients and brands realize their marketing potential, achieve their strategic plans, and build digital ecosystems. 


Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to team up with hundreds of brands including Jaguar, Canon, Huawei, Inditex, LEGO, Movistar, and Forever 21.


I have a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Animation from Universidad Latina de Panama and a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing from ADEN Business School’s joint program with The George Washington University. Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with EAE Business School’s joint program with Universitat de Barcelona.


I’m an author as well. I’ve been writing young adult novels for seven years now in Wattpad, an online social reading platform intended for users to read and author original stories.


In 2020, my novel “Factura al Corazon” reached five million reads in Wattpad and received an editorial contract with a Spanish publisher. And in 2022, “Factura al Corazon” got a paperback book deal with Nova Casa Editorial.

I’ve seen a lot in Digital Marketing, however, given my content creation skills, my biggest area of expertise is Content Marketing. That is why, in 2018, I founded Corprensa Content Studio, a business unit for Corporacion La Prensa, while I had eight years working for the corporation. 


At Corprensa Content Studio I explored Business Development, Content Creation in Digital Mediums,  Sales Strategies and leaded my very first multidisciplinary team composed by journalists, graphic designers, audiovisual producer, and 2D/3D animator. Until today, this unit specializes in the design and execution of digital content strategies for brands of all categories towards meeting relevant business objectives. 


In order to keep generating value for my clients, I have mastered Web Development, Social Media, Email Marketing, Lead Generation, Data Analysis and e-Commerce as well.

Transforming the retail world during a pandemic.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I joined AltaPlaza Mall, a shopping mall based out of Panama City, winner of the Gold Prize in the New Design and Development category from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), to manage all its digital transformation process. 


It was a huge challenge because the mall had been closed for eight months due to the pandemic. So, when I joined the team, we had to rise up more than one hundred retail brands using only digital strategies. During this time, I explored e-commerce strategies with marketplaces, worked closely with IT to optimize all the mall’s digital processes and became an ally to every single brand to meet global sales goals up to 3 million dollars per month.
